Elisabeth FreundCollection 1920-1996

The collection is organized in four series. Series Icontains writings and publications by and about Elisabeth Freund about her personallife as well her work for the blind. There are several version of her manuscript"Zwangsarbeit Berlin 1941", which was published in 1996. She also wrote about hergreat-great-uncle, Julius R. Friedlaender, and published a book on home improvementfor women in 1930. The series also contains her extensive writings, published andunpublished, on working with the blind, as well as publications and clippings abouther and her work at the Overbrook School for the Blind. There are also several legalpublications by Rudolf Freund. Series II: Correspondence contains both personal andprofessional correspondence by Elisabeth Freund, correspondence of her daughtersClare Freund and Ursula Goebel regarding her mother's work, and correspondence withthe Leo Baeck Institute regarding the donation of Elisabeth Freund's papers. SeriesIII: Photographs contains mainly images used in Elisabeth Freund's professionalpublications. The collection also contains a longhand writing device and workbooksdeveloped by Elisabeth Freund (Series IV).
